Located at the southeast corner of Hilltop Circle meets Hilltop Road, the Performing Arts and Humanities Building is easily distinguished by its shiny stainless steel façade and its distinctive “thumbprint.”

Using GPS
If using GPS, please note that the entire UMBC campus uses one address: 1000 Hilltop Circle. We recommend using Google Maps for the most accurate directions. In order to navigate more easily to the following locations, use the links below:

Navigating without GPS (to Lot 8)

From downtown Baltimore:
- Take I-95 south
- Take Exit 47B; follow clearly marked signs to Route 166 and UMBC.
- Red Route in image
- As you enter the campus, proceed straight through the first roundabout. Stay in the left lane.
- At the second roundabout use the third exit to merge slightly left onto the inner loop of Hilltop Circle (the road that surrounds the campus).
- Make a right at the traffic light at Hilltop Road and Hilltop Circle
- Make an immediate left into Parking Lot 8. The PAHB is across from the parking lot.
From I-695:
- Take Exit 12C onto Wilkens Avenue heading west.

- At the roundabout, use the third exit to enter campus on Hilltop Road.
- Proceed straight through the traffic light
- Take an immediate left into Parking Lot 8. The PAHB is across from the parking lot.
From the Washington area:
- Take I-95 north toward Baltimore, then take Exit 47B and follow clearly marked signs to Route 166 and UMBC.

- At the traffic light at Hilltop Road, take a right, and then an immediate left into Parking Lot 8.
Parking by Venue

You are welcome to park in Lot 8 or Lot 9 free of charge after 4 p.m. during the weekdays, and all day on the weekends. If you’re visiting Monday through Friday prior to 4 p.m. please plan to use the paid visitor parking lots available in Lot 9 (located immediately behind the PAHB), the Administration Drive Garage, or the Walker Avenue Garage. You will need to use the Payment Kiosk in order to purchase a parking pass.

- Use the Main Entrance for events in the Concert Hall, Music Box and Dance Cube directly across from Parking Lot 8. (Magenta Line)
- The Linehan Concert Hall is at the Main Entrance to the PAHB to your right.
- If you are heading to the Dance Cube pass the Concert Hall and turn left to take the elevator to the 3rd Floor. When you get off the elevator, turn right to access the Dance Cube.
- If you are heading to the Music Box pass the Concert Hall and turn left to take the elevator to the 1st Floor. When you get off the elevator, turn right, walk past the first floor entrance to the Concert Hall, and continue straight through the glass doorway.
- Use the Atrium Entrance for events in the Proscenium Theatre (PT) and Black Box Theatre.
- Park in Lot 8, walk down to your left (eastward), cross the street, and pass the Sculpture Forum to gain access to the PT from via the Atrium. (Dark Blue Line)
- From Lot 9, you can easily access the Atrium using the path leading from the Visitor Parking Kiosk. (Red Line)
Accesible Parking by Venue
- Linehan Concert Hall, Dance Cube and Music Box:
Parking Lot 8 features 5 reserved handicap parking spots facing the entrance of the Concert Hall as well as a depressed curb on each side of the sidewalk on both the parking lot and Concert Hall sides of the street. The left door entrance to the Concert Hall features a wheelchair push button outside the building as well as inside the vestibule for entry to the Concert Hall. - Proscenium Theatre and Black Box Theatre:
Parking Lot 9 features 19 handicap parking spots. There are several depressed curbs to the left and right of the pay station kiosk. Follow any pathway to the left to enter the Atrium to access the Proscenium Theatre or Black Box on the first floor.
Public Transportation
- UMBC Shuttles: If you are a Student, Staff or Faculty at UMBC you may use the UMBC Shuttle services free of charge with your UMBC ID. Please see the maps and timetable here.
- There are several Baltimore City MTA Bus lines that go to UMBC, including Rte 37, 76 and 32. There are 3 city bus stops on campus that are approximately a 10-20 minute walk from the Performing Arts and Humanities Building. The closest bus stop to the PAHB is located at Hilltop Circle & Administration Building.
